DALLAS, PA – Fidelity Bank has donated $10,000 to Misericordia University through the Educational Improvement Tac Credit (EITC) program, reinforcing its commitment to supporting educational initiatives that benefit children in need.
Misericordia University is designated as an Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) by the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development for its Speech-Language and Hearing Center and its Future Teachers Program. This latest donation will directly support the University’s Speech-Language and Hearing Center, which serves children in Luzerne County and across Pennsylvania with communication disorders.
Operating through the University’s Speech-Language Pathology Department, the center provides critical assessments and treatment for children experiencing articulation delays, developmental language challenges, autism-related communication difficulties, fluency disorders, and more.
In 2024, thanks to the support of corporate and community partners, including Fidelity Bank, $34,500 in EITC donations helped provide services to 71 children, 33 of whom successfully transitioned back into the classroom with improved academic and social skills.
The Speech-Language and Hearing Center at Misericordia University remains a vital resource for families and school districts across the Commonwealth, ensuring that children receive high-quality, evidence-based speech therapy. Fidelity Bank’s contribution will further strengthen these efforts, positively impacting the lives of students and their families.
